There is also some routine vehicle maintenance that should be checked between loads or at least once a week. It will not only help provide a safe trip, but will also extend the life and performance of your vehicle.

Cell phone and car charger
Pager and spare battery
Freight bills and pens
Emergency Kit (flares, triangles, wheel chocks, etc.)
Direction Book
Spare tire, jack, lug wrench, tire gauge
Maps
Recommended Items
Sleeping bag or blanket and pillow
Any medications you take or may need to take
Personal hygiene Items: Change of clothes, toothbrush, hair brush, etc.
Coat, boots, umbrella, and other appropriate weather-related clothing
Spare wiper blade refills and spare fuses
Drinks and snacks
Vehicle Maintenance
Check all fluids (oil, brake, transmission, coolant, including windshield washer fluid)
Check Tires (pressure, tread, wearing evenly, etc.)
Check mileage when oil change is due and air filter
Winterize: Test coolant freezing point, ice scraper, lock de-icer, use windshield washer fluid containing de-icer
Check all lights including brake lights (may require two people)
Check all hoses and belts for wear
