When you are paged for a load:
You need to call the Elite Way Express. A dispatcher will give you the Pro number, the name and address of the shipper and consignee, the pickup and delivery times, and what you are going to be picking up including the estimated weight. You need to write down all of this information and take it with you.
When you arrive at the shipper for pickup:
- Record or make note of your time in.
- Let them know that you are from the Elite Way Express to pickup an expedited shipment and wait to be loaded.
- Sign the Bill of Lading as EWEI #(your driver number) and your initials (Ex. EWEI #0 - AB). You will need at least two copies (one for the recipient of the freight and one for the office). If you are given only one copy, you can ask for another copy while you are there or wait until you get to the consignee and ask them to make you a copy.
- You must now securely strap down the freight.
- Fill out the following sections of an Elite Way Express freight bill (if you have not done so already). Always be sure to press hard when writing on the freight bill so it goes through to all of the copies. Neatness is essential! You need to write clearly. This freight bill will be seen by our customers.

Turning in your paperwork to the office:
You keep the pink copy of the freight bill, which should now be the bottom copy, for your records. The two top copies of the freight bill (white original and yellow) and the Bill of Lading for each load needs to be turned in to the office on a weekly basis. You do not keep a copy of the Bill of Lading for yourself.
